Our team of highly experienced instructors are fully licenced, insured and accredited and are always on hand to guide and assist.
Anciant Maister Frank Docherty
Frank’s martial arts background is incredibly varied.
A skilled boxer and kickboxer, Frank has a black sash in Hap Kun Do and holds the rank of Shodan in both Jodo and Laido.
Frank has extensive experience as a door supervisor and bodyguard and for more than 25 years has been Terry Brown’s senior student in English Martial Arts, achieving the rank of Anciant Maister in 2015.
Maister Neil Mitchell
Neil’s background is in Muay Thai.
He has been studying English Martial Arts under Terry Brown and Frank Docherty since 2002. In 2018 Neil was proud to be awarded the rank of Maister.
In 2019 Neil was appointed to the advisory commitee of the BMABA.
Neil particularly enjoys the cudgel and unarmed elements of the art.
Maister Simon Stockman
Simon has a background in Ju -Jitsu and has been studying English Martial Arts since 2004. In 2018 Simon was deservedly awarded the rank of Maister.
His favourite element of English Martial Arts is Quarterstaff at which he is a formidable opponent.
Provost Ross Docherty
Former soldier Ross is our assistant instructor and was a member of the boxing team during his military service. Being the son of Maister Frank, Ross has been studying our art since he was a very young man.
His favourite element of English Martial Arts is unarmed and his ability is matched only by his desire to learn.
